Hasn't failed yet I bought this strap for a fairly expensive Olympus series camera. Both the strap and the camera have been on many journeys, and neither has failed. As advertised the necklace is made of a flexible and durable metal. It is comfortable and fit through the eye ring with no problem. It has never come undone by itself and has saved my camera from falling many times. My only issue with the strap is that while the necklace is metal, the loop that you fold the necklace through to connect it to the camera is still thread. The thread has not failed, and it shows no signs of wear, but I was still hoping that there would be no vulnerable surfaces. Despite the one personal preference issue, this is a high quality product and I fully recommend it as a safeguard to protect your camera. The factory-supplied Olympus camera straps (bundled with the camera) are only wrist straps, so this unit is a bit better, more useful. It seems well-constructed. Works with other Olympus products too! I bought this neck chain at the same time that I bought the Olympus WS-311M digital voice recorder. I use the WS-311M primarily as a music player now, and this neck chain serves me well to avoid dropping or damaging the unit. It keeps the small player secure while I move around and listen to music or recordings.

Older version was better I have two older versions of this case from about 6 years ago. They were much better. The problem is that the new cases are made in China and they just to not seem as robust or "over built". There is one less surround strap. The worst thing is that the foam smells like a chemical factory or toxic waste, nothing in the older version. I had to air these cases out for two weeks in my garage to get to the point where I could use them. I was also afraid that the fumes could also infiltrate my lenses and damage the optical glass. I am tired of Chinese products that mimic older made in the USA. The Chinese stuff is junk. What is Lowe Pro thinking? Should I slip or lose my balance, I never worry that the lens in its protective case will get damaged.

Be careful with this product. This is a lovely and unique neck and wrist strap for a digital camera. The first time I used the neck strap to hold my almost-new digital camera was on a trip to Alaska in June, 2008. I was very pleased at the convenience and freedom which attaching my camera to the neck strap gave. The neck strap allowed my hands to be free to just pick up the camera and snap a picture. Unfortunately the use of this neck strap proved to be a very unsafe way to carry a camera! We were visiting the Laura Ingalls Wilder residence in Missouri where I had just taken a picture of the entrance. When I reached for my camera to take a picture of the home and grounds as we walked up to the house--to my amazement and disbelief, the neck strap was still intact but there was no camera!! I was not even aware that the small black portion of the neck strap had broke nor did I feel the camera drop to the ground. The camera's pink color blended into the gravel pathway which made it difficult to see and I stepped on the camera further damaging it beyond repair before I found it. End of an expensive camera!! This not only resulted in my inability to take more photographs of this beautiful, historic homeplace, but also necessitated the purchase of another digital camera or have no photographs of our trip. I would recommend anyone using the neck strap (which is a very convenient way to carry a camera) be very cautious. The neck strap itself did not break, it was the small black portion of the strap which goes through the camera. Perhaps the manufacturer should look into reinforcing the portion which attaches to the camera.

Battery not reliable Not very happy with this product! We bought this battery to replace the original Sharp BT-H32U battery as we wanted to use the camcorder during our overseas trip. It seemed to charge OK but once we started using the camcorder in Australia (where it was winter) it started functioning strangely. At times it would show flat battery, then show full and at times switch itself off. Often the charge would not last very long at all compared to the original battery. As a result of doing one or more of these functions in quick succession, it jammed the tape in the camera and nearly lost us all the video we had taken. Luckily I managed to remove the tape without breaking it, but from that time we used the camera sparingly and did not switch it on/off too often when we did use it. Overall, I do not believe it is too much to ask that something as simple as a camcorder battery be reliable - which this one was not. DOES NOT HOLD A CHARGE THE BATTERY WOULD NOT HOLD A CHARGE AT ALL EVEN AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO CHARGE IT OVERNIGHT AS THE PACKAGE INSTRUCTED. THEREFORE, I HAVE SINCE RETURNED THE BATTERY SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED DIRECTLY FROM AMAZON.COM AND HAVE REQUESTED A FULL REFUND. I DO NOT RECCOMMEND THAT ANYONE PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT.

Better than the original battery! This battery has longer running time than the original fuji battery for a fraction of the cost. I havn't had it long but no problems thus far. Great power. My original batteries were 2 years old and weren't holding much of a charge any more. The new ones are doing GREAT. I shot all day, with many flashes. The price here is excellent, too. I saw batteries with less capacity selling for more than 3 times as much in camera stores and at Radio Shack. Amazon and batteries are 5 stars Seamless ordering and delivery. Used them on trip to Eygpt. There were no problems.

Pentax DL17 Battery Received battery in plenty of time for use on our most recent vacation. Unfortunately, the battery which I bought as a spare did not charge. I informed Amazon and returned the product for replacement expecting to be notified where to send the replacement. Amazon automatically reordered the battery and sent it to the shipping address listed on the original order without checking with me first. Unfortunately, the shipping address used for this transaction is a vacation home and either the product is sitting at the door waiting to be stolen or rusting away in the rain. Rather than shipping a replacement automatically (and I did try to change the adress for the reorder only to be told it was to late), Amazon needs to check with the customer where to ship the replacement item. This is the first order that I have been unhappy with Amazon. It has soured my willingness to use Amazon in the future.

When I did so, I ended up having to leave the camcorder on overnight with the LCD screen lit, since it took longer than four hours to fully discharge and by then it was bedtime. I have used the camcorder four times since this purchase, and the battery holds up very, very well. My guess is that it will hold its charge at least 4 times longer than a new original Canon BP-522. Great Flash Bracket This a small form factor for a flash bracket. The advantages for this are: 1. Can hold onto camera for a steadier grip. 2. Takes up less room in a camera bag. 3. Professional looking. 4. Lighter weight. Too bad the one reviewer did not read the directions, other wise he would have been able to use it with his camera. There is a height adjustment for the exact purpose he needed. Great item, I like it! Perfect for party/event photography I have used this product for over 2 years, and have to say that while it is not in the same league as its high end competitors, it delivers excellent value for money and does pretty much every thing those brackets costing $200 and more offer. I am currently using it with a Canon prosumer SLR (40D) and a 550EX flash. I typically use a Canon 16-35mm L or a Canon 28-70L and both are bigger lenses (diameter wise), and the frame can handle it with no issues. You can adjust the frame base, the height and the position of the flash holder, so you should be able to fit most camera/lens combos. The flip action is smooth. I prefer this gripless version over the gripped variety. The unit is also really portable and fits into my camera pack well. The once nit I have is that the flash holder screw needs to be tightened well, otherwise it has a tendency to loosen up. I have gotten into the habit of checking every so often, and have had no issues. Recommended! stick with small format It does what it's designed to do, but put hands on it if you can before buying. There is a lot of wiggle on the flash-head, but that's standard across most brackets in this class. Here's what to watch out for before buying: 1) Notice the bracket extends forward from the bottom of the camera - if you usually hold your barrel from below, you will need to be ready to change that. 2) In deference to the above reviews - the height of the flash mount does adjust in the vertical plane. You can adjust it via philips screws to rest above your sensors and such. It DOES NOT adjust in the horizontal plane. If you use large lenses, you may have clearance issues (it rests directly against the focus ring of an EF 85 1.2)

Cannon Camera battery charger kit This kit is a bargain for the price. The charger felt kind of light weight in comparison to my old one but it works perfectly. Great fit for my D200 I was concerned that this bag might be too small for a full size DSLR, but it is absolutely right for my D200 with 18-200 lens. I wish I could post a picture showing how perfectly it fits! Just enough room for the charger & extra battery or two as well. Memory cards fit nicely into their own pockets, and I can still carry a lens cleaner & a couple of filters. There is still a bit of room yet, but that is really all I need. The bag seems to be very well constructed, nicely padded, and I really like the overhanging top flap which helps protect the contents from inclement weather. If you need to carry a larger assortment of accessories or extra lenses, or have a bulkier camera, you might want to go for a larger bag. For those of us who prefer to travel light, the Explorer 1 is perfect. Very nice camera bag. I bought this bag for a Sony A100. Camera fits snugly and is well protected. The construction of this bag is very good, with heavy stitching and zippers that work smoothly. There are several pockets for additional accessories and yet the bag is compact and easy to carry, with a shoulder strap and a hand strap. Good performance to price ratio, I recommend. No Design Flaw I can't comment on the other Nova bags, but the Nova 3 has a very rugged strap attachment. It's a metal D-ring and a metal clasp. Zoom in on the photo and you can see it. Overall, this bag is very well constructed and has lots of adjustable internal dividers to customize it for your equipment. It may be larger than you need for a small camera, but I think it's just the right size for my DSLR (Pentax K10D) plus battery charger, cables, and a short telephoto. There is still room for one or two additional lenses or an external flash. Overall, a good buy. Just the right size for a mid-sized setup Looking for a small bag for your SLR? Well I'd suggest a Nova 1 bag instead, as this will be too much for your uses. Looking for a large bag for two or more SLRs? Well this bag is too small. If you however have a SLR, 2-3 lenses and a flash, it's just right. I carry my Nikon D70s (with a battery grip attached), 18-70, 70-300VR, and 50mm lenses as well as a SB600 flash in this bag. Any of the three lenses can be attached, and the other two can go along for the ride. The flash cannot fit attached to the camera, but it fits when you disconnect it. I even can throw in the AC adapter, extra batteries, extra compact flash cards, and a memory reader. All of this fits with the top securely zipped shut. The whole setup is a rather large and heavy affair, but it works well as a carry on. It seals well, so it's very weatherproof as is, but there is a raincoat thats stowed in the bottom that covers it even better (I don't think I want to be in a rainstorm that necessitates that). The one thing that can be an issue is that this bag is too much if you're just taking a camera and one lens. I still have a Nova 1, which serves this function well, and the dividers that came with the Nova 1 came in handy, as this bags allotment was sufficient for most uses, but not mine. Good but bulkier than I expected. Don't let the 4 star rating fool you. This is a really well-constructed camera bag with lots of room for storage, but may be too much for the amateur photographer that may not be carrying multiple lens and several catridges of 35 mmm film. I bought this for my wife to hold her Canon EOS XT and it does a dandy job of it but is really too bulky for traveling. It went with us to Hawaii but was too difficult to carry around when sightseeing and taking pictures (not to mention having it as a carry-on when flying). In it I was carry an extra battery, battery charger, several extra flash cards, and that's about it. I ended up getting a Lowepro Topload Zoom1 Camera Bag after this bag and it has been fantastic for my needs. It was much easier to travel with and enough room to carry what I needed.

Cameras mounted to flash brackets of any brand tend to twist or rotate on the camera mounting screw. Cork or rubber friction pads help, but the real solution is to use a camera-specific Anti-Twist (AT) Plate. These plates act as an interface between the camera and bracket. They pin-register to the bracket and conform to the camera's baseplate. This locks the camera to the bracket to prevent twisting.

Bingo! I should have included this when I bought my Pro-T bracket Bingo! I first got a Stroboframe PRO-T bracket for my Canon EOS 20D with the BGE2 battery extended grip. I mount the camera to the bracket and started shooting. I noticed it twisted no matter how much I tighten the screw on the bottom. I afraid it might messed up my camera screw socket, I bought this Anti-twist 300-BE1. This plate works so well. Now no more twist. No more messed up on my camera socket. Each anti-twist plate works specific to each brand of camera. This one is for Canon EOS cameras. If you have a Nikon, get the one that's fits the Nikon. Highly recommended. Does what it's supposed to do but... I mounted a Canon EOS 40D 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) with Canon BG-E2N Battery Grip for Canon 20D, 30D, 40D & 50D Digital SLR Cameras, a Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS USM Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras and a Canon Speedlite 580EX II Flash for Canon EOS Digital SLR Camerason a Stroboframe Pro-T Flash Rotating Bracket. This camera set-up is fairly bulky and heavy. I first used the bracket with the supplied cork attached at the base (without the the anti-twist plate mounted.) I put the bracket to its paces by flipping the bracket extension and shooting a number of pictures at both landscape and portrait orientations. The camera set-up eventually nudged and twisted from the bracket's base. I had to tighten the bracket mounting screw several times as a result. What you don't want is the inconvenience of re-tightening this mounting screw often when the nudging happens in the field. You also want to avoid the posssibility of damaging the battery grip's less sturdy tripod socket from excessive loosening and re-tightening especially if heavy lenses are used. The plate solved the "nudging/twisting" issue as promised. Two small pins at the bottom of the plate together with a small mounting screw ensure that the plate is securely attached to the bracket. The bracket with the heavy camera set-up mounted felt very stable and I did not experience any twisting. The negatives: - You will have to dismount the camera set-up from the bracket to replace the batteries. The plate's top portion blocks the battery compartment door lid. - The plate will scratch the battery grip compartment lid due to frequent mounting and dismounting. Stroboframe recommends the anti-twist plate as an option if you use a camera with an attached battery grip. I disagree. The anti-twist plate is a necessity.

Made A Difference I recently upgraded my camera lens, investing a good amount in the new lens. I used the lens without the "filter", then with the "filter". I could really see the difference in my photo's with the filter. My photo's have more definition. I am very pleased with the Sigma filter. It definetly makes a differnce using a filter. Most of all, it protects the lens. I would recommend the Sigma filter.

Review Sony HVL-RLA Ring Light... First let me say that I LOVE THIS UNIT! Sony did a great job in the design of the HVL-RLA ring-light. Ring lights do not put out a lot of light as that would cause blown or washed out images with close-up photography (which ring lights are designed for). An example of a blown out image is to simply take a close up with an ordinary flash such as the pop up one that comes with most digicams like the Sony 828 which I own. Normal flashes simply produce too much high intensity, highly concentrated light at close distances resulting in a way too harsh light with close-ups thereby causing a blown, or washed out image at close ranges of a foot or two. A normal flash is great for distance subjects as the light spreads out and becomes more even and soft; they are designed for distances of greater then 5 feet or so. At close range a normal flash is almost useless for anything other then a bounce flash. Ring lights on the other hand are designed for a soft, low, but very even light output (that is why they completely encircle the lens). As a result, they generally are not usable as hand held but rather the use of a tripod is most often required as the light output is fairly low but very even. Also, a slow shutter speed is needed at very close distances as the F stop has to be set to its smallest opening to provide the greatest depth of field otherwise the image will not be in very good focus at anything but one very narrow area. This is called Macro Photography and here the ring light really does it best. Macro Photography is the art of taking very close up images such as stamps, coins, small models, insects, and any relatively small (and usually un-photographed images). There is a whole world of photography here and many people that get into it are simply amazed at the wonderful images that can be achieved that most photographers simply avoid or overlook for a lack of the proper equipment (such as the ring light, close up lenses, and a good solid tripod). The Sony HVL-RLA is unique as it has two light levels, plus either the left only, right only, or all of the ring can be turn on. This is accomplished as the light source itself is actually made up of 60 small LED’s (Light Emitting Diodes) behind a frosted light diffuser. This produces a very soft light that is mandatory for macro photography. Why would you want to turn on only one half of the ring you say? That’s simple, for increased shadow detail. On some subjects having the whole ring on produces illumination that is a little too even and sometimes a little unnatural, so by lighting the subject from one side (or the other) more contrast can be achieved on the subject thereby providing a more dramatic image; that is one very slick feature. As far as battery life goes I have absolutely no complaints as I use only Lithium batteries and so far they are holding up very well after several hours of use. Just remember, a ring light is not meant to illuminate general photography but is designed mainly for macro photography; here it does the job superbly. Sony did a wonderful job with this product; they got it right the first time. This works very good. I take photos of failed gears and other engine parts. Gears fail for a variety of reasons and you need to be able to photograph the break, crack or fatigue area to help explain the failure. This lamp, along with the Sony DSC F828 give perfect photos of these parts at very close--MACRO--views. I can see that 60LED lights will eat batteries, just have to remember to shut it down between set ups. Highly recomended to anyone doing Marine Survey work. Poor battery life, poor illumination at extreme close-up I frequently take photos of thin wire sections and need to get very close to them to get sufficient detail. The macro lens attachment on my Sony DSC-F707 camera allows me to focus with the subject matter touching the front lens element. However the light from the LEDs in the HVL-RLA Ring Light starts to drop off noticeably in the center when the subject is closer than about 2" from the front edge of the light, which is about 2-1/2" from the front lens element. At zero clearance from the front edge there is virtually no light being directed at the subject. For subjects further than 2" from the front edge the illumination was fine, but that didn't meet my particular needs. If the above issue was the only problem I had I'd just write it off as the light not being intended for my application and leave it at that. Unfortunately the battery life I got was also very poor, and erratic. The Sony specification for this light is 40 minutes of use with alkaline batteries at full power. With the first set of batteries I got 11 minutes before the lights went out; with the second set I got 34 minutes; with the third set I got 19 minutes. All the batteries were from the same batch. The wide variation in battery life makes me fairly sure that my light was defective. However I noticed that even for the set that lasted 34 minutes the voltage left on a single battery after use was 1.376V at room temperature (versus 1.596V when new). This suggests that the electronics in the light are not well-designed to make good use of all the energy stored in the batteries. Many electronic devices will run the battery down to much less than 1V before expiring. Using NiMH or Lithium batteries would have given a much better life of course, but I doubt they would have affected the wide variability in performance that I saw. One other observation was that the batteries that lasted 34 minutes were almost too hot to touch immediately after use, and at that point their voltage was only 1.285V. So, perhaps the battery life would be better if the light was used in short bursts rather than continuously, so the batteries didn't get too hot. Overall a non-defective sample of this ring light will probably meet most people's needs, particularly with NiMH or lithium batteries rather than alkaline. However it is quite expensive, it isn't suitable for extreme close-up work, and at least for my sample the battery performance was poor.

Every Sony digital camera owner deserves this... Compact, small, super-easy to use; small enough footprint; efficient. In retrospect, something that should've been "standard" with any Sony Cybershot camera. Hooking up my camera to an AC charger is too cumbersome and a pain. This device is so straight forward, with two "pockets" to insert batteries, that having one go dead on you while you're on the road shouldn't happen. Well worth the price and less cumbersome than the TWO power cords that come with your Sony digital camera (one from your wall to the the charger, the other from the charger to your camera). With this gizmo, you have just ONE cord. It runs from the wall to the charger. That's it. I always worry about charging my camera from the wall because there isn't enough clearance for the wire and the back panel to your camera. The result is your camera, during charging, is pushed upward at a funny angle, on one edge because the flimsy door panel to access the input jacks is flush bottom. This door feels it could break at the slightest mis-directed touch.No such worries anymore. Good to have for the holidays. We bought it so that we could charge 2 batteries at once for the holidays and vactions. We have no complaints and my wife is putting it to good use with the new camera. Solved the Camera Issue Charger works fast and effectively. Very easy to use. I purchased it because the in-camera charger stopped functioning, now I can charge the spare, or both batteries at the same time... Camera back in business.

Lock Bracket Better Than Tree I am not totally sure how well this product worked overall. I was impressed with the light design. You could not easily see the cam or locking bracket as they both blend into a dark environment - unless someone is looking for the cam it is not easily seen. I did not have problems with the motion sensor not going off like i have heard about with other locking brackets. I only had two problems overall, and one was not the fault of the bracket. One, the cam was not tight around a tree since you can not use the strap and the locking bracket at the same time. This was solved by placing it on a tree with a limb that would prevent the cam from falling down and a piece of wood was used to tilt the camera toward the correct angle/direction. Second, although the locking bracket worked, someone cut down the tree (over 18" in diam.) to take the camera. I had the locking bracket for less than one week before this happened. In the one week I had the product, I was very satisfied and would get the item again if I can afford to purchase another trail cam. Not a theft-proof solution This AND other supposedly anti-theft devices work only against "honest"/opportunist thieves! :( In my experience, the scum thief either DESTROYS what can't be hauled away or RETURNS with the necessary tool to get the item. Securing your possessions in remote areas is somewhat dubious do to the nature of a good many scumbags roaming the outdoors! If you need PEACE OF MIND, buy the Wildview or any of the other items meant to protect your belongings. Just keep praying that some malicious thief doesn't walk up on your stuff!!

Camera and Notebook backpack This is a nice backpack with lots of storage space and I even fit my 15.4" HP widescreen notebook although it is very tight and not designed to accomodate that size notebook. I do have a problem with the zippers around the main camera section. They are imbedded in the outer layering of the case and take a bit of work to get them zipped up. I also do not like the front section accessory compartment as it is also a bit tight to get into and the bottom section has another zipper section inside that I cannot even get my hand into. It has an outer setion for carrying other stuff that I really dont need. I would have liked them to instead left that off and allowed the front section to open all the way. I do like the main area storage space and can fit most of my lenses, 580 flash and hood covers fairly easily. When this is loaded with everything, it is pretty heavy but the shoulder & hip straps make it very comfortable. This is a great pack to haul your camera gear on a trip but kinda clumsy to work out of if your in a hurry. It has lots of smaller zipper compartments for lens caps, spare batteries, CF cards, and other small accessories. I have not yet figured a way to attach my manfrotto tripod though it does have strapping for it. Maybe I am not as smart as the bag :) Overall, I am able to fit eveything I need for my camera, lenses & HP notebook into it with a little spare room left over for extra cords, wireless mouse & even a book.

It does what it should, and well I bought this lens for my Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras, and it fits it beautifully with the hood reversed. It also can fit my Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED-IF AF-S VR DX Zoom-Nikkor Lens with its hood on (not reversed). It doesn't aim to do a lot, but it does offer protection from dust and moisture (not a monsoon), mild shocks, and it can attach to belts, other Lowepro bags and cases. Great and functional case This is a good quality lens case made from rugged material. It has a good amount of padding and a sturdy zippered top. The belt loop is particularly important to me since I don't like carrying a camera bag. I actually use this case to carry my camcorder which fits perfectly. Definitely a great case for lens, cameras, accessories or anything else that fits. Does Exactly What I Want! I use this case during sports games when I have to carry a wide angle lens and a compact telephoto. With this case tied to my belt I am able to have much more mobility and the ability to change lens in ~3-4sec. Highly recommend if you have similar situation as I do!

The proper tool I was a little hesitant to purchase this AC adapter because the description did not give any of the specifications. The manual that came with our Olympus D-490 camera warns that we cannot use the Olympus 3 amp adapter, so I was hesitant to order this one without knowing more. I took a chance since this was the only one I could find on Amazon, and luckily this was the one needed. The specs, for those who need to know are as follows: Class 2 power supply with Input - AC120V 50/60Hz 0.3A and Output - DC6.5V 2A Adapter for all digital Olympus cameras that use 4 AAs After reading the other posts, I reconfirmed that this adapter will work on all digital Olympus filmless cameras that use 4 AA batteries (including the C-3040). On most of my electronic do-dads I make my own power supplies using various equipment lying around (I do electronics for a living), but when you're plunking down several hundred dollars for a good camera, it's wise to play it safe and use only what the manufacturer recommends. Not for me. I have lots of digicams, and I've actually only used this AC power supply a couple of times. Once I discovered the wonders of external card readers for downloading images into my PC (eg. SanDisk, Viking), I never again needed one of these. The exception would be if you want to do a lot of reviewing of your digipics on a TV/monitor; in that case you would find this an absolute necessity.

Two Equivalent to Panasonic CGA-S002 Camcorder/Digital Camera batteries (same ones i'm doing the review for.) I'll go to a concert, take a hundred pics and only go through one battery. Panasonics offical battery costs around 40 something plus shipping and handling if you order it online. I paid 50 altogether for 2 batteries that last just as long as the Panasonic (actually a bit longer then one they sent me with the camera.) Can't beat that value. Here's what i also recommend: a Permaraal 72mm to 62 mm adapter ($40 bucks) and a 62mm filter UV filter of your choice ($15- 30)(mainly to protect the lens, i keep it on all the time.) 62mm filters don't affect the picture or lighting quality, and they're cheaper. Plus you need at least a inch and a half long adapter so the lens has room to move. The 72mm one they send with the camera is TOO long. Also, get a micro fiber cloth. I seriously recommend MicroTear. Awesome brand. For a case, go with Tamrac, i got a Tamrac 5314 Travel Zoom 4 Camera Holster bag. Fits perfectly even keeping the 62mm adapter on. And when i want it off, i keep it at the bottom of the bag, no big deal. I got mine from bhphotos for 17 [...] I suggest getting your camera from butterfly photo, i got my FZ20S for 388 for a grand total of 397.80, no tax. If you get it from Best buy or Circuit city expect to end up paying around 550. From amazon; 500. Look into getting a tripod as well, i can't stress how important they can be. If your not serious about getting into photography i don't recommend the FZ20. Get a cheap Cannon dig ;). Or go with the compac series of Panasonic's Lumix brand. Yah the ones with the crappy lenes. Hope this review helps.

Very nice product While I haven't used any other tripods, I am fully satisfied with this one! I bought this tripod specifically to use with my new DSC-R1 camera. It was listed as the preferred tripod in the camera's accessories book, and seemed to have a lot of nice features, so I figured I would give it a shot. The tripod is extremely light weight, and is ideal for taking on hikes or walks. It comes with a little bag to carry it in, which conveniently fits over your shoulder and hangs behind your back. It has a quick-mount for the camera (i.e. a little piece that you screw onto the bottom of your camera that can easily be put on and taken off of the tripod, so you only have to spend about 2 seconds mounting the camera onto the tripod at any given time. To assemble the tripod out of its container from fully compact size to fully assembled size takes all of 10 seconds. You unhook each of the leg pieces and let them slide to full length. You then tighten those leg pieces and pull the legs out until they click into place. Despite its light weight, it is quite sturdy. It's also very customizable as to height or camera orientation (you can just about get any shot or angle that you want). It tilts on all axis and can get as low as 7 inches off of the ground. All in all, this is a great tripod. Again, I haven't tried any others, but this tripod has yet to disappoint. Very light and strong feel I bought this tripod for my Nikon D80 with 18-135mm kit lens. It holds D80 very well and the weight of the tripod itself is light for travel. Highly recommended. Light and useful great tripod... just what I was looking for... Highly recommended for prof. use...

Excellent bag for travel with your SLR I purchased this bag for my Canon Digital Rebel SLR and I am extremely pleased. It is not the largest gadget bag that I own, but it is the best by far. The bag itself is 10" high, 9" wide and 6" deep so it is ideally sized for travel with your camera. It is well sized and balanced for carrying over one shoulder using the comfortable strap which is included. The bag is made of nylon, but it has a very study frame to it so the bag keeps its shape. Lowepro was generous with distributing the padding and I feel that the bag keeps my equipment quite safe. The bag includes padded dividers which can be configured using Velcro. I have the bag configured so that I put my camera body with my 28-135mm lens attached into the bag lens first so that I can take it out again quickly. The dividers have rigidity to them so I am comfortable that they will support the camera body without risking the lens will hit the bottom of the bag. There is also enough room for my 300mm lens and accessories such as my spare batteries or lens covers. Pockets include one on each side of the bag. There is a great zippered pocket on the back of the bag that is really useful for quickly stowing papers or books. There is also a zippered pocket inside the top flap where I keep my memory cards. The pocket on the front is also zippered and subdivided to store memory cards, filters, etc. The bag includes a limited lifetime warranty. This is my second Lowepro bag (the other being a Slingshot 100 AW), but it's my most preferred. This is especially true for those days when I want to carry just the camera and one zoom lens (in my case, an Olympus E-500 with a 14-54mm/f2.8-3.5 lens) for family outings and visits, parties, etc. This should not imply the bag doesn't hold all I need, quite the contrary. This bag easily accommodates a FL-36 flash, an Olympus EC-14 teleconverter, Stofen Omnibounce, a spare BLM-1 battery, extra batteries for my flash, extra CF cards, a Lenspen, a tabletop tripod, a CP filter, and RM-1 remote switch, and other small accessories. It can even accept my E-500/14-54 with the EC-14 mounted as well, with no loss of room -- all this in a compact size and it's relatively lightweight too. What more can I ask?

have camera will swim This backpack actually is waterproof. I litterally went swimming in the BVI with my medium format equipment safely inside. Let me just repeat that, you can literally jump off the boat and swim to shore in waves with this thing and not a drop gets in. It uses a special zipper to seal itself off, not the more common method of folding over the mouth of the bag. Carrying ergonomics are also superb: the bag offers many adjustments and a real well-patted hipbelt, essentially like the bigger mountaineering backpacks.This is one of those rare products that does everything right.If you are looking for protection from water for your camera gear this is the only currently made bag, as far as i know. I do have a discontinued German model, and find the Lowepro much better (ja, obwohl ich ein Deutscher bin). My one caveat is: if you do not need this level of protection from the elements, you would be better off with another bag, because the stiff plastic and tight zipper make it less then ideal in terms of getting at your stuff quickly. Wet, wild...and yellow This is a fantastic idea! I carry digital camera gear, hard drives and LOTS of rechargeable batteries onto boats to take photographs underwater. It has all become much easier with a waterproof backpack... and it seems to be accepted as hand luggage by airlines. This big version carries a lot, two cameras, two flashguns and two lenses and an aluminium camera housing. A wildlife photographer could get almost anything into the pack, and sling a tripod on the outside, with lunch in the pocket. The waterproof layer has a zip that would not look out of place on a drysuit, and seems just as efficient at keeping water out. The backpack looks bulky, but it's comfortable when it's adjusted. My only reservation is that the pack is bright yellow, and stands out in a crowd, which isn't ideal when it's filled with $$000s of gear. It would be easy to find if you dropped it in the sea, though, and Lowe claim that it would float, protecting the gear inside! Swim with your photo gear with confidence I bought this bag specifically for a big trip to Europe, Africa and Asia, which included a stop in Thailand, where I was expecting to spend a lot of time on boats that weren't particularly seaworthy and I was particularly keen to visit the Emerald Cave, which involves a 200m swim through a cave to an enclosed beach. Over the course of a month, I flew 13 flights and covered a distance of over 45,000km in the air, carrying in excess of 15kgs of gear. I was able to fit the following camera equipment in the bag with ease: * Canon EOS 1Ds Mk III body * Canon 24-70 2.8L lens * Canon 70-200 2.8L IS lens * Canon 100 2.8 macro lens * Canon 16-35 2.8L lens * Canon 1.4x extender * Canon 580EX II flash * Wolverine 250GB portable HDD * Various other small accessories, including CF cards, etc. The bag also has an external compartment with plenty of zippers where I was able to fit a 15" IBM laptop, along with books, travel documents, noise-cancelling headphones. While I occasionally had to remove the laptop to fit the bag into an overhead locker, I never had any problems with airport security or getting it on to the plane. The bag is also extremely comfortable to carry around and has solid chest and waist straps to distribute the load. Most innovative is the back harness system which can be eaily adjusted up or down based on your height. The bag also has a hidden fold-out tripod holder down the centre of the bag. Of course, the best feature of the bag is the dry-suit zip. It took a little time to properly lubricate it with silicone grease, but once complete, it really has a very solid feel. While I was a little nervous climbing into the ocean with all my gear, it worked perfectly. The bag floated high in the water and not a drop of water penetrated the bag. The self-draining pockets on the outside also worked really well. There are a few minor downsides: First, the main zip is really heavy duty and requires some effort to open and close. This means it can be difficult to get your gear in and out quickly. There is a secondary standard (non-waterproof) zip that you can use instead but the bag tends to sag without the main zip closed. Second, the yellow colour gets dirty easily. Finally, the exterior compartment is not waterproof, so if you plan to go for a swim, you'll need to remember to remove everything from that compartment. Overall, this is another excellent bag by Lowepro. The dry-zuit zip really works superbly. Some of the design features - particularly the height adjustable harness and waist/chest straps - are superior to those on more conventional models, such as the Computrekker AW Plus. I would have no hesitation recommending this bag to anyone planning to take lots of gear into extreme climates, be it snow, water or sand. I have to admit, however, that I will probably continue use my other Computrekker, Rover and Slingshot bags on a day-to-day basis as they are simply easier to get gear in and out of the bag.

Great Compact Charger I need a fast, compact charger that could easily fit into my digital camera bag. Other chargers are compact, BUT the electric cord takes up a lot of room. This charger DOES NOT have an electric cord to contend with, Instead, it has a collapsable plug, which folds completely hidden into the unit when not in use, allowing it to be placed neatly into the camera bag pocket.With the storage issue taken care of, the performance of this unit is above expectations. The recharging process is less than 3 hours. Unlike other models, you can recharge either one, two three or all four batteries at once and still get a full charge on all batteries. The two battery option is nice for my kids walkie-talkie batteries. The shut down mode when complete is a nice option that is really needed, especially for the time when you forget about the charger until the next morning.I've tried several other chargers and this is the BEST model that I have worked with. Compact, easy storage, fast charging, auto shutdown, charge less than 4 at a time. ALL the options I need for a battery charger. Fast Charges; Long Lasting Power--but weak spring mechanism. The charger makes quick work out of charging all four batteries simultaneously, and automatically shuts off when finished, which is very convenient--no more burned out batteries. Also, the batteries, 1850 mAH, which come with this charger seem to be the highest rated you can buy, and do last very long. Just out of the box, without prior charging, they already outperfomed the Alkalines I had been using previously in my Canon A70. Excellent Case This case is excellent. I bought it for my mom for Christmas. She also has the Canon SD600. The case fits the camera perfectly and includes an extra pocket in the front perfect for an extra memory card or battery. The design is nice also. Nice and inexpensive case for ultra-compact digital cameras I just received a Canon SD500 as a gift and wanted to make sure that it would stay safe. It was way too small for my curent camera bag (a Tamrac 5696), so I went out and found this one at a local store. Its materials seem to be very tough and the padding on the inside (foam and then brushed fabric) are just what I needed to keep the camera itself and the finish on the body safe. I'm very happy with the purchase. I'm only giving it a four, however, because the strap has cheap, plastic connections. I think they should have included all-metal hooks that had 360 spin, so you don't get tangled in the bag. But you can always go out and get a new strap. Great coupled with a Canon SD750 I bought this for a replacement Canon SD750 when my SD450 was dropped. I looked at several different styles and brands, including the Canon leather case. This far exceeds them all. With my SD450, I had the Canon leather case which was nice and kept the camera safe for a year in Iraq. But, the Ridge 10 has more padding, a more sturdy closure with velcro, a seperate slot for an extra battery (which I use thanks to the busted SD450) and another zippered enclosure just the right size for an SD Card (I keep two in mine). Additionally, the belt loops are easier to get on and off the belt whereas the Canons was a very tight fit, the the Ridge 10 also comes with a detachable strap. Excellent buy for this size camera- I couldn't recommend it any higher. Oh, it also looks good (I have the black) and the zippers are nicely embroidered with orange stitching making it easier to find the tabs, especially in the dark. Good workmanship as well.

Best lens case ever
I'm a professional photographer and out of all of the cases I've tried to protect my valuable lenses, these are simply the best out there. They're INCREDIBLY well made, well padded, and well designed. Extremely good value for the money. I can't stress it enough... These cases are simply the best. I would feel totally comfortable dropping one of these cases with a lens inside. They have about a million ways to connect themselves to belt loops or to gear bags. They also look pretty cool. Just a note if you happen to be looking for the right size to fit your Canon 17-40L, the medium case is too big. The small case will fit it just fine. These cases come highly recommended.

It makes a lot of sense to protect your lens by spending a few extra dollars buying a UV filter and lens case. This is a well designed case with filter holder, nice amount of padding, extra straps for ease of carrying with/without camera bag. Best of all, the price is right. Plenty of space for moderate sized lens. slight water protection, easy to clean/wipe-off. Unlike other draw-string bags, this zipper provides full top protection. All in all - excellent value.

The double 90 degree groove (one on each side of the head) means switching from landscape to portrait is convenient however you're set up.

A repositionable ratchet means that the locking lever's action will never be blocked either open or closed by interference with the camera body, tripod shoulder, etc... simply pull the lever outwards and it's free to be positioned more comfortably without affecting the locking mechanism. Then you can continue tightening or loosening the knob.
A separate lock on the panoramic axis allows for rotation adjustment or panning to be carried out without losing framing.

The Hydrostat ball locking system is based on a chamber containing fluid, which, when pressurized by the tightening of the lock knob, exerts an even locking force on the ball. The evenness of the force applied by this system compared to the traditional mechanical blocking technique is what gives this head its remarkable load capacity. The Hydrostat system also reduces framing deviation during blocking for greater accuracy.
Accurate degree markings on rotation axes allow for precise positioning of the camera.
By keeping the head and camera mounting plate as low as possible, the camera is kept safely closer to the tripod's center of gravity for more stable support.

Great head for still camera as well
This one is designed for video cameras but I use it for my 40D plus 180mm macro and 175-500mm lenses. I upgraded from the mini 486RC2 and its a big step up in more than one way: bigger, more expensive, heavier, and most importantly, dead firm clamp! Now my tripod 3011BN is the weak link...

This head is a bit of an over kill for my usage, and that is why I love it. Some said the ball is not that smooth. It isn't. I have no experience with other fancy brands so I have no comparison. But the tension adjustment is very nice, the 486RC2 tended to lose all grip once the clamp is released with a small movement on the handle, a medium lens will drop downward immediately, usually ends with a bang on the tripod. This happened to be a few times and were quite scary. With the fine tuner on this one, it's not going to happen like this any more.

One thing I learned is that no matter how firm the ball head holds the camera, if the lens+camera setup is off balance, there will be vibration, even though nothing is slipping. So balance is just as important as the gripping force of the ball head itself.

I love this ball head!

Solid, high quality ball head
The Bogen-Manfrotto tripod head range is so broad that it's hard to find the right product for one's needs. This ball head is very well made with a smooth action and very strong clamping action. The independent pan lock (with degree scale) addresses one of my main concerns about ball heads; that they go all "floppy" upon release, requiring re-leveling of the camera even when only a simple pan is desired. Speaking of leveling, I was disappointed to find that this head does NOT include bubble levels -- only the 468MGRC4 (note final digit) has this feature. This version does, however, have a sliding dovetail plate with ~1/2" of play that allows you to balance the camera when using a telephoto lens with its own tripod mount. However, I believe the 468MGRC4' bubble level is a more useful feature.

Does Everything I Need It To
As a Canon Camera Product Educator, providing training on Canon gear and seminars on photography, I often need to carry a lot of gear with me, including up to 4 dSLR's, a bunch of lenses, flashes, a tripod, etc. This bag has been the best I've owned for making it easy to transport my gear to and from assignments.

The exterior is made of tough ballistic nylon. There are two exterior pockets, two tripod holders, and bungee cords for keeping larger items with you. Inside, the layout is completey customizable. There are 4 more flat pockets for storing things like filters, lens cleaners, cords and cables.

When shooting pro sports, I typically carried a 400 f2.8, 2 EOS 1D cameras, 70-200 f2.8, 24-70 f2.8, and 16-35 f2.8 lenses, along with an 580EXII Flash. When teaching, I carry 4 dSLR's, 6-8 lenses, 2 flashes, and other accessories. This bag makes it easy. And when I need to access my gear, the stand in the back makes it easily accessible. The handle is sturdy and the wheels are typical roller blade wheels, and have never given me a problem.

If you have a lot of gear to carry with you, this bag will not let you down.

pretty good case
You can get a lotta stuff in this case. The double lining (one removable case inside the outer shell) is nice - added protection. I haven't tried it yet but I think I can sneak this on the plane as hand held luggage though it is a little large by TSA standards. The little stand thingy that flops out in the back to support it at a 45 degree angle is a nuisance, and I will probably just cut it off eventually. Bag bling, who needs it? Would have liked a few additional dividers. The tripod hanger is also a nuisance, and is largely unusable really. Bag bling again. Other than that, good bag, well constructed and if it lives up to the standards of my trekker, indestructable.

Great Soft Case, Fits My Flip Ultra!
The "Case Logic UP-2" is a very well made soft pouch/case that perfectly fits my Flip Video Ultra Series Camcorder, 60-Minutes (White). This case has some great features:

* A silky smooth inside so it will not scratch my lens

* "Locking" draw string wrist strap to keep your camera snug and protected

* Metal ring clip (removable) to attach to a belt loop or shoulder strap

* Very low price for such a well made case

This is well padded enough to protect my camera, but still fits in my pants pocket without being too bulky.

Great for the Flip camera
Got this to hold our Flip camera since (1) the camera comes with a thin velour bag and (2) I am accident-prone. The dinky little bag it came with wasn't going to cut it. The Case Logic pocket works great because it provides insulation against drops and bumps. I still use the little velour bag, though, because I think it's better to have that touch the screen and because it's good to wipe the screen off with.

Simple is Best
Great little case, does it's job, which is protecting my Flip video camera.
I drop my camera a lot (as I do with most things) and it's kept it safe so far.
I like the clip, it clips easily onto my purse, my husband's belt loops and it makes carrying our Flip around a lot easier.

Good Job Sony!
I LOVE this bag! Yes, it is big BUT it is worth it if you have a lot of accessories! I have just about every accessory for my DCR-DVD505 camera and EVERYTHING fits in this bag! The wide shoulder strap helps to keep the weight off your back. This bag has so many pockets that months after having this bag, we were finding more storage. We are not disappointed at all as we have carried this bag on our cross country trips and we have not had any problems! I even use the bag to carry non-camera related items in it because while using the camera/caring this bag, I do not carry a purse because it is my purse as well as my camera big which includes all of the camera's accessories. If you need storage then this is the bag for you!

Cons:

My ONLY complaint would be, I do wish the bag came with a diagram of all of the pockets and storage areas instead of having you to find them on your own especially since there are a lot of them.

This is a BIG bag
This is probably a great bag for the right person, but it was way to big for my needs. Sony has this listed as a bag for a huge variety of their cameras. Before you buy this, just make sure that you realize that it is actually 17" long. You could probably fit four to six of some of the Cybershot cameras into this bag. If you are looking for something to hold a bigger Sony camera and lot of accessories, this is probably the bag for you.

A great carry bag for the price.
It is big at 17 inches and has plenty of room for my Sony Cybershot H5 and my wife's Canon EOS and assorted lens, chargers, manuals, Canon 100 monopod, etc. all of our travel camera gear in one bag. Lots of extra pockets for a cell phone, passport or local maps. Seems to be very well made and well padded lens compartments and should last better than most carry bags I have had over the years. No information came with the bag which was a bummer. There may be some features I haven't found yet.

Good fit but small
The case is a terrific fit for the camera, but is hard pressed to hold an extra battery and SD cards. I wish it had a bigger accessory pocket.

Classy little case
I am able to keep one battery and one SD card in this case. It helps me keep these assessories where I can find them, and protects the lens which doesn't have a cover. I even got it wet a couple of weeks ago, and it isn't any worse for the wear.

Perfect!
My new Optio M20 Pentax camera fits perfect in the case. The quality of the leather seems good and looks like it will hold up for a while. I would recomend this case for the Optio M20.

Flawed design? or, a marketing ploy by Pentax motivated by profit?
Too much money paid for a product that could have been an integral part of the battery charger that came along with the camera. It should have been designed by Pentax just like the AC Adapter that comes along with a standard video camera. Exactly what I was looking for
I wanted to take my camera equipment with me on an Ozark canoe float weekend, but needed a sturdy waterproof case to protect it against bumps and (especially) water. I ordered this case, and have been completely satisfied. I had no trouble customizing the foam padding to accommodate my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi, a 100mm macro lens, a 18-55mm zoom lens, a 75-300mm zoom lens, a couple of spare batteries, two watches, and my car keys for this trip! The fully loaded case floated high in the water when I tested it. The latches took a fair amount of effort to open and close, but this was actually pretty reassuring when risking expensive equipment on the water. It opened and closed easily enough for me to manage while sitting in a canoe on a moving river without losing my paddle or my fishing rod. All of my camera equipment stayed dry and undamaged after spending two full days on the river. Had my canoe overturned, I have no doubt that my equipment would have been fine. That said, I should have bought the orange or yellow version rather than the black one as it would have been easier to find had I had such an accident.

Haven't run into a Pelican case that was anything but good
This case was ordered to hold some medical equipment that must travel with me on my about two-weeks-per-month business travel. The good part is that this case will probably survive falling into a black hole. The bad part is that it takes up half my carry-on suitcase. But that's what you pay to have protection for expensive equipment.

Soft core, hard shell.
I have always trusted Pelican when it comes to cases for expensive and fragile items. I purchased this specific model for the Canon XH A1 1.67MP 3CCD High-Definition Camcorder with 20x Optical Zoom. It fits perfectly (get this model, the 1500 is too thin). Be cautious and plan well for the way you pluck the foam because mistakes cost time and money!

Perfect for my Cannon Powershot S3 IS
This bag exceeded my expectations for a fit for my new S3. It is excellently padded on all sides, with a velcro-secured divider panel allowing for customization. There is room in the main compartment for a snug fit for my camera and either the battery charger or another necessity. There is also plenty of room above these or in the zip pouch in the inside cover. In the front circular compartment, there are two secure net holders for your media cards and extra room for either your filters, a CD disk, or other needs. There is also a small zippered pouch in the outside front flap of the top cover. This bag comes with an adjustable shoulder strap and a 2" wide, solid belt loop. This is the only concern one might have, as you must remove your belt to put the bag on it. Personally, I don't think I would want this bulky of a bag hanging off my belt anyway, but it is an option and certainly appears that it would be secure, and most accessible as well. The cover fastens securely with a double zipper and a hefty plastic luggage-type clasp. This camera bag is everything I was wanting and more, and a bargain for under twenty dollars. I highly recommend it.

Too small for SLR
This would be a great bag, but it is much too small for the Nikon D80 and I am sure it is too small for most other DSLRs.
Too bad really because it is well thought out except for the size.

Perfect fit for Panasonic FZ28
My Panasonic FZ28 fits real nice in this bag. It fits in sideways so the lens faces the side of the bag, which is the easiest way to grab it out because your hand is already positioned in the place it should be. The one minor setback: inside is two strips of velcro along the front and back and one on the bottom to hold in a divider, which I wouldn't be using. The velcro edge catches and the camera drags along it. I wanted a case that I could slide in the camera without worry so I found a solution. I turned the bag inside out and used a sewing thread removal tool to take out the velcro. Now the case is GREAT! You can even fit in the hood for the camera if you position it on the bottom of the bag facing up because of the gap underneath the lens. All in all very nice for $20. Oh wait one more complaint the shoulder strap is not removable, and it would be nice if the belt loop had velcro on the bottom so you didn't have to take off your belt to put it on, kinda stupid. Anyway still nice and a good fit for the fz28.

Awesome bag for the Canon G9
Mark Tapungot is right - this bag is bombproof, as all LowePro bags I have ever bought are. They just make a great product. This bag is the perfect bag for a Canon G7/G9, especially if you have the LensMate or Canon conversion adapter installed. It fits my G9 with LensMate adapter, filter & lens cap + a filter case for a polarizer, small cleaning kit, 2 extra batteries, and extra memory card like a glove. Absolutely perfect. The belt loop fits nicely on my backpack & waistpack belts. Note that this bag is not big enough to store additional conversion lenses like teles, wides or macros. If you have additional lens add-ons beyond the conversion adapter & a couple filters, check out one of the bigger Apex bags like the Apex 120.

Lowepro Apex 100 AW
I bought the Lowepro Apex 100 AW for the Panasonic DMC-FZ18. The Camera fits very nice but you can not carry much more in this case. It will carry the camera, spare battery and Memory cards but not much else. A perfect case for day trips.

fits well with canon powershot s3
hey peoples, this ,as of spring 2007, is a new model for lowepro. did quite a bit of searching to find a case that would be quiet, efficient for travel use and sturdy enough to drop and not ruin my camera inside. Although I could not find a model in town to look at first, I ultimately took a chance on this case to fit my canon powershot s3. based upon lowepro fitting guide, this one fit my camera and had the all weather wrap around cover that is a bonus in wet conditions. Also this case has a reinforced rubber bottom so if you are like me and make some unforced errors, the camera wont go first. so yeah I like. also has a nice belt loop on back. A very simple design. inside of case is a very soft material and can be converted into two pouches for whatever. and has a little pouch for an additional memory card.

Though I've owned several bags over the years, like a typical photographer, I'm always adding more and searching for the perfect bag. Of course this is a misnomer in itself. Anyway, recently I've decided to go the two bag route, one bag for all my gear and travel (to get my gear where I'm going) and one day bag for when I get there, something that can be packed empty into a suitcase.

After much research I thought I had settled on the perfect combination, a Domke F-803 for day use and a Think Tank Airport Antidote for all my gear and as a carry-on (I've not ordered this yet but all reviews point to satisfaction!). The first bit of the plan was to pick up the Domke F-803.
I had looked at one briefly in a store and knew I liked the simplicity and utilitarianism, both big plusses to me. I ordered it and was fairly disappointed. The Domke was pretty much everything I had anticipated except for a couple things; it's too thin (front to back) and the included insert is too tall. Both of these variables negated using my Nikon D70s lens down,
the bag does not accommodate the height of the camera (front to back) nor the thickness (the body sticks out of the top of the bag). Obviously some
of this could be remedied by a shorter insert, it would still however be a tight squeeze front to back.

This led me to another search and I found the Tamrac Adventure Messenger 4. The dimensions were similar to the Domke with the exception that the Tamrac
was at least an additional 1.5" front to back. This difference alone was enough to make a considerable difference. Also, in contrast to the single
insert included with the Domke, the Tamrac has a multiple segmented divider system, typical of Tamrac bags, this made it very easy to adjust the bag to
fit my D70s with 18-70mm lens down with ample room on either side for additional lenses or other gear. The build on the Tamrac is not as simple
or utilitarian as the Domke's canvas, but it serves the same purpose being very pliable, still looking fairly non-descript (it looks like a standard
messenger bag) and lighter than the canvas to boot.

So far I've easily packed the following:

- D70s w. 18-70mm lens down center
- 50mm 1.8
- Medium Rocket blower
- Several filters 67-77mm range in cases
- 2x SB-600 strobes
- Cleaning gear, cloths, etc.
- Memory cards

I could fit at least 1-2 additional lenses plus other smaller gear as I've
not used either the front zipper pouch nor the back pouch. There is also a
cell phone size pouch on the right side of the bag that I've not used yet.

Plusses:
- Small enough for a day bag but big enough to carry quite a lot.
- Nice fabric, supple, conforms to body
- long strap for wearing cross shoulder
- good padding, not too thick though (i.e. low bulk factor)
- quick release buckle, easy one-handed operation
- small amount of velcro on flap, keeps the bag shut but isn't obtrusive
- price, half the price of the Domke
- covert, doesn't really look like a camera bag

Neutrals (I don't really have any minuses), there are only a few:
- the buckle works well but I prefer the brass snap of the Domke
- probably not as tough as canvas but time will tell
- not as utilitarian as I like, I prefer the Plain Jane Domke look and feel

That's it. Overall, I'd have to say this is as good a bag as I've found in a long time. For people who like shoulder bags I'm glad the makers are
finally sidling up to thinner deeper bags in the messenger style. For additional reference I've also owned a Crumpler 7 Million Dollar Home which
was, to me, over padded, heavy and very stiff.

Easy to carry and not too cramped
Looked at a few different Tamrac bags and settled on this one. It has plenty of room for my Nikon D80, 50mm, 18-200, Speedlight SB-600, and all the extra cards and batteries. Even with all this in there it is not cramped and has a little room to spare. Though don't let this lead you to think the bag is huge. It's not a bag you'd buy for a compact camera, but it's size makes it easy to sling over your shoulder and feel like it doesn't get in your way or is too heavy.

Pros: Comfortable to carry, good size for the body and a couple lenses, well priced, quality brand, offer some room to increase what you bring with you.
Cons: May be too large for those wishing to just carry the SLR body and a single lens.

Nice Bag!
I purchased this to carry around all my camera and related gear and it really does a very nice job. My wife likes to pass off the cell phone, camera, maps and other papers she collects to me as we go along. With this, my pockets aren't bulging with all of it and everything has a nice spot. I only wish I could figure a way to attach my mono-pod to it, its a bit too long for the bag.

The bag is light but cushy and strong. I like it very much.

does it's job
While it would be nice if this charged the battery, I still find it useful. For my research I have to take many pics with the camera in a relatively fixed position, and this keeps me from having to spend a lot of time worrying about conserving batteries.

Does the work
This adapter is great if you are using a 5MP camera or over because the file size to transfer to either the printer or computer is big and battery can dry easy.I found that if you don't use this adapter you can be stopped from complete your direct printing ( with out computer) and retouching your pictures because the battery goes dead before you finish. Great accesory.

The photo is misleading
Be careful, the photo is a bit misleading. I have the Small shoulder bag and it only has 1 front pocket, not two like what the picture has for the small. Overall, the bag is constructed well and my only complaint is that it is difficult to access the front pocket since the zippers don't go that deep.

NG 2343 bag is really very good
The bag is small, but big engough to hold my Canon 400D, Canon 70-200/F4L and Taram 17-50/2.8. It's very convenient to bring it outside.

Good value for money
I was using my Tamrac 5627 Pro 7 Digital Zoom Camera Bag (Black) to carry my DSLR and 18-70 mm lens. Recently bought a new lens, 80-200 mm F2.8. And I needed a way to carry it with the camera bag during shoot sessions.

I bought the MX5437 for 3 reasons - to use for storing the 80-200 mm lens, as a protective casing and to attach it to my Tamrac bag through the Modular.Accessory.System.(M.A.S) so I can carry it around with me.

This Lens case protects the lens well, has more than adequate padding inside and attaches securely and easily to a Tamrac bag through the M.A.S.slot. For 25 dollars it seems to do the job well as a value for money product.

However, I haven't tested it's water proof capabilities though and do not plan to.

Serious about nature photography
This product is just what I need and was looking for when it comes to serious day-hiking trips where the destination is where the picture makes its debut! If you're looking to carry a lot of gear into the woods comfortably, and are protecting thousands of dollars in equipment this bag is well worth the cost! The all weather cover that nicely stores in the bottom of the bag is well designed and positioned. It's easy to cover, and has just that feel of a bag that is designed for ruggedness. This bag handles my D200 with battery grip attached, as well as a Nikkor 70-200mm f 2.8 lens without any issues, it comes with a nice zippered off section for other supplies you may need such as filters, manuals, reference sheets and so forth that seems to work very well without adding a lot of girth to the over all bag. The included day pack is also a bonus for storing an extra set of clothes, food, safety gear for hiking (mole skin, first aid kit, etc.). And the front separate zipper area holds my 13.3" macbook very well in a sleeve as well as its power adapter for using it as a carryon for plane travels. Keep in mind if you have any tripod attached, this bag will not suffice as a carry on. Other reviews mention that using the tripod on the side tends to throw off the balance, while this is true you still have the major functionality at mounting and carrying the tripod on the front center, making it balanced. First thing you would need to do with this pack is set your harness, which it comes with a small piece of plastic to unhook the carrying harness to allow you to adjust it. Being 6'3" I had to set mine at the highest possible height, but it makes the pack feel like its not even on you once you have it set right. If you need a pack for serious hiking, where you're going to find a breeding pack of bears, or just a hiking access only waterfall that you're setting to get the picture of, this is it! It also works well for everyday storage of gear so all you have to do is zip it up and go when you are ready. If you are wanting something for more everyday photo shoot gear bags, or if you dont have insane amounts of gear that you need to protect you may want to consider the Lowepro Slingshot 200 All Weather Backpack (Black) or for the slightly heavier load Lowepro Stealth Reporter D200 AW Camera Bag both work excellent! And allow for an easier means of transporting small amounts of gear, the slingshot 200 will even work for most small day hikes where only a couple lenses are needed, and as with all lowepro AW bags, the all weather rain cover is inclusive!

An excellent option
I searched for camera backpacks to pack up both my D70 and T2 Rebel EOS, and I finnaly settled on this pack. At first, I was somehow doubtfull because of the price. Wel, I received the pack and it is simply awesome!!!

It's a big pack, it is actually filled with both of my SLR's, a Nikkor 18-200mm, a nikkor 35mm, a canon 50mm, my nikon flash (SB-800), about 10 filters in its boxes, cleaning supplies, cables and it still has room to spare (It will accept about three more lenses!!)

The backpack is really sturdy and very well bult. I've seen people complaining about it's weight, but the weight is just a consequence of it's toughness; it really comes down to being a personal choice: a light pack that won't hold up in the long run, or a beeffy pack that WILL protect your camera gear! And that's the whole point of buying the pack isn't it?

Highly recomended!! worth every dollar I paid for!!

As a previous reviewer said, this pack IS bigger than you think it is!!

PS: I forgot to mention that this backpack has a great ergonomics design. Even though the pack is heavy, and when it is loaded with camera stuff, even more so, thing is that it actually distributes the load over your shoulders through waist like no other backpack! However, it is not easy to find the correct adjustments, so you must play with all the different adjustments (shoulder harness is movable, shoulder straps and load stabilizer straps) in order to find your own ergonomic sweetspot...

Big, bulky but good.
I just purchased this item. It was being sold by a different company for $40 more. So, the $190 is an excellent buy.

Disappointed in the fact that it weighs more than the Amazon specs say and is bigger than expected. It is NOT 6LB. The product sheet I have doesn't say how much it weighs, but the outer dimensions are 14.5w x 15d x 21.5h. Only other disappointment is that the daypack that is included is not cushioned. It will work good for putting other things in it such as clothes, food, etc. and straping it to the back of the photo trekker for a nice dayhike. (but the pack is heavy remember)

If you want to keep ALL your camera equipment in one spot and don't mind the weight this is the perfect product for you.

Oh, lifetime warranty is a plus.

Domke F-505 Large Lens Case
The Domke case is a very high quality, well designed, and ruggedly built professional-level item. I ordered it along with my new Canon 400mm f/5.6L telephoto lens for protection, which it fits perfectly.

The case's features are exactly as described in its Product Description on Amazon's page, so I won't repeat them here. When both the case and the new lens arrived, I was very pleased with the obvious high quality, features, and construction of the Domke case.

I was also both surprised and pleased as well with the new Canon len's included case. I had expected that the Canon case would be just another "lens pouch" like those include with my non-L Canon lenses, so I had ordered the Domke for the new lens.

At first, I considered returning the Domke, since the Canon case would be enough protection for my intended use. However, because the Domke case is of such high quality and provides even more protection in the field than the Canon case, I decided to keep it for another use.

I also have an excellent Tamron 70-210mm f/2.8 (now discontinued, unfortunately) that also fits the Domke, albeit with a little extra room to spare in the length dimension. This extra room provides just enough additional case length to allow me to also carry my Tamron 1.4X teleconverter in the Domke case along with the Tamron lens. Perfect!

For lenses the size of Canon's 400mm f/5.6l, this is an ideal lens case for easy-access and rugged field use. I highly recommend it.

Great replacement for MFG case.
My 'BIGMA' - Sigma 150-500 f/5.6-6.0 is pretty big. The case it comes with looks like a steamer trunk people used to take on cruises. I don't use the lens that much but need some way to carry it. Forget about your camera bag unless you take everything else out. So, when I bought a Domke F-7, I bought this for the Sigma. It barely fits, but it fits with the tripod collar moved back a little bit. Now I can just velcro AND strap the lens to the camera bag strap when I want to take it along.

Good Case for the Price
It is a little big for my Canon Powershot A-510, but you cannot beat the price.

Pros:
- Sturdy construction
- Price (cases of comparable size cost more)
- Zipper for main compartment (most other brands have velcro, which weakens over time)

Cons:
- Shoulder strap hooks are all plastic (other brands use metal)
- Only one zipper (some have two that meet at the top)
- Velcro for front pocket

It also comes with a belt loop that you have to unbuckle your belt to loop through. I prefer this type, because it is less likely to come undone. Other camera case brands have belt loops with velcro or snaps, which I suppose other people prefer.

Just Enough
This case is just big enough for my Canon SD110 camera and a spare memory card. The size is perfect as I wanted to protect the camera from rattling around in my computer bag and getting scratched by other stuff in there. This is my third Lowepro case and if the others are any indication, this one should be first rate.

Pentax K100D can use 4 AA batterie, rechargeable or not, ot use 2 CR-V3 batteries of the non rechargeable type. The CR-V3 are the longest lasting batteries by far, but at my local supplier are about $20 for a 2 pack. In this case using the K-AC1OU Adapter makes "cents" whenever you are in a studio-like situation where you can shoot while your camera is plugged into the wall outlet. (Also, when downloading photos directly in your computer). The cord is pretty long and you can use an extension cord.
In any event and although I use now rechargeable batteries, a sure backup power to have on hand.

Not for K10D
I just want everyone to know...because I got this by mistake...This is NOT for the K10D. It is a great product and work Great on my istDL.
But it will not work on the K10D.

A snug little wetsuit for my camera!
The product is brilliant! It zips and velcros onto a Sony HDR-FX1 video camera and protects your investment from bumps and dust. I keep it on my camera all the time. The neoprene provides just enough padding to keep the plastic camera body free of scratches. The clear windows allow access to most (though not all) of the buttons. Two minor design flaws: the velcro flap that covers the tape door isn't quite wide enough and the door sometimes hangs up on it when opening. Also, to access the firewire port I have to unzip the jacket and pull it partially off.

This would be a perfect product it not for these two small flaws, but even with these issues I consider this one of the smartest accessories I've purchased for my FX-1.

Neat, well made & surprisingly large amount of storage space
I bought this case for an HP Photosmart A516 printer and it's absolutely ideal for this printer and the other HP printers of the same dimensions. Although the case looks small and sleek when closed, it actually has space for a surprisingly large amount of 'stuff' - Obviously the main compartment holds the printer itself, but there are various other useful slots and spaces to pop your AC and USB cables, the battery, a pack of paper and a few other small items you might want to carry. The bag also has light padding throughout which adds a certain amount of protection from bumps, and a sturdy, quite comfortable shoulder strap. A well designed bag all round, IMHO.

Tight fit for the 475
I own the HP 475 and since it's slightly larger then the rest, the printer barely fits in the case. It does fit but it is very tight. I would not recommend this for the 475. Probably I shouldn't have bought this but I really liked the case.

Perfect for Canon 30D
I have a Canon 30D. I don't have multiple lens and just wanted to carry my camera with maybe a few accessories like an extra memory stick or lens wipe.

This is perfect. There is plenty of padding inside so I feel the camera is protected well and also small enough for me to carry around everywhere.

You can either zip it closed when you are done using, or clip close so you can be prepared to take out the camera anytime.

I'm pleased for the price. They have these on display at Circuit City. I found mine there, but I bought it from Amazon to save a few dollars.

Solid construction, but too small
This bag is very well built, nice compartments and a tight closing mechanism. The only reason is it got 3 stars and not 5 is because it's size is deceiving. I have a canon powershot s3 is and a very small battery charger. They barely fit inside there. I have to put the AC cord for the charger under the camera. I was hoping for something a little bigger. The compartments are very small, but it is a good bag for someone who doesn't plan on having any spare lenses or storing anything else in there besides camera stuff.

Too Small
I just received this item and was disappointed so that I'm returning it. I have no problem with the padding or construction. The size is just too small for much more than the camera (Sony Cybershot H2) and maybe the charger. I was looking for a case that would carry my camera with the lens hood on, the charger, cables and manual. The dimensions advertised seemed to be more generous than most of the bags I had inspected on Amazon, but they are at least an inch smaller in each proportion, and the inside dimensions are about 3.5" x 5.5" without the 2 adjustable pads. The velcro pads hold very securely, but with 8 straps each it was like putting an angry octopus in a jar. If you have a camera, like many are, that's not much bigger than a pack of cigarettes, and the items that came with the camera to be stored together, I think you would be satisfied with this bag.

Great fit, but not perfect.
This case fits the SD200 very well. When the sd200 is in the case, it becomes as thick as an s410 camera (by itself, without a case on). It is pretty stiff so it should protect it from scratches and even mild pressure applied to it. It has a magnetic buckle that snaps into place and snaps off easily. The material feels very good in the hand, and looks very classy. The top flap has a small hole where the wrist strap prong slips through.

The back features a belt loop (not a clasp) for you to slide a belt through, or feed it through a strap (ie a messenger bag) although the latter would be a bad idea as the magnetic clasp on the flap isnt very strong, it could unbuckle pretty easily (as it is meant to do).

the front of the camera is meant to face the front of the case (and the back faces the belt loop). that gives the lcd screen extra protection. it is the only way the sd200 fits in this case (as the strap pront faces the front).

Along the sides, there seems to be a semi rigid insert .. top and bottom. probly plastic or cardboard, under the leather material. this helps prevent the buttons from being depressed, accidentally turning the camera on while in the case.

Fantastic case, looks great, feels great, small.

Downside ... no pocket for a spare battery. There is a tiny slit of a pocket in the case .. but it seems to be made for a sd case.

It Fits Like a Glove ! Almost Perfect...
No Personal Attack is Intended BUT as someone who owns a Red PSC-90 case, I have to point out that Gabriel's review is TOTALLY WRONG !!!! I had actually placed my order with Amazon before reading his review. His review made me worry needlessly. My previous camera was a Canon S410 and now I own a Canon SD200 so I am well aware of their differences in size. All I can say is that his must have been mislabeled or he ordered the wrong bag. It's A CUSTOM FIT - TRUST ME. The case is at least an inch shorter than the one for the Canon "S" series (I had the black leather one). Come on people- this is Canon we're talking about. They're not going to sell you a bag that's not intended for the specific camera(s). Even the silver Canon label is half the size as the ones intended for the Canon S500.
Finally, it is made from very high quality grade leather and I wasn't sure about the red (in the picture) but in person, it's very striking. The strap is made from the same grade leather. I like the look of the strap but it's unfortunately a bit too stiff. I have reverted back to the original strap but that's my only minor complaint. Granted, I think more women than men will like the RED but I'm so happy not to have another "boring, black leather camera bag". As far as dimensions, I don't need to measure them - all I know is that it fits perfectly without any wiggle room ANYWHERE. The leather is also nice and rigid and will last for many years to come. If you have the Canon Sd200/300, get this case WITHOUT A MOMENT'S HESITATION (unless you want a bag to carry your extra accessories as well)! And yes, the other reviewer is correct - there's no room for a card (or anything else that matter) but that's exactly what I was looking for. An ultra-compact bag for my ultra-compact camera!

Best case to keep your camera ultra-compact
I bought this along with my SD 450 and I love it. This is only a good case if you have an ultracompact camera (like the ones listed in the product title) and want to KEEP it ultracompact. That's why I got it, and if you don't care about ease of shoving your camera in your pocket, then don't bother with this one.

There is obviously no place for anything but the camera, and I don't see an issue with that. If you get a 1GB memory card, that should be all you need. And if you want to keep your camera super portable, then why have a need for an extra battery in your pocket anyway? If you really want that, get a bigger case (probably not the PSC 50 though, which may actually damage your camera).

However, this case is much more stylish than the PSC 50 as the quality is obviously very good, and the very official looking Canon logos on the flap and wrist strap make it look even better. Plus, it's a perfectly snug fit to keep dust, dirt, and scratches from your camera, which to me is the whole point in getting a camera case (i.e. not for extra storage space). I've dropped it on my carpeted floor a couple of times and it has been just fine (then again, I've tripped into a wall with the camera and nothing happened to it at all because it's a Canon). I've only used it for a couple of weeks, but my camera has no blemishes whatsoever and everyone thinks the case looks cute and posh. I definitely like its wriststrap better than the one that came with my camera.

The biggest drawback is that you have to pass the wriststrap through a hole every time you want to take it out, which means that it could take up to 10 seconds for you to get your camera out and then turn it on. I don't know how they could've improved this though, and I like being able to hold it very securely through the case with the strap. Plus, the magnetic button partially makes up for it since it makes it easier to put away. The belt loop on the back can be quite handy as well.

In summary, if you don't mind not having space for extras and you don't mind pushing the strap through the hole on top for removal (though the hole is fairly large), then you definitely won't be disappointed with this. It's especially easy on your wallet. I would still buy a screen protector for your LCD though, because this case can only protect the screen while it's actually in there ;)

Oh, and don't be careless with your screen. If you put the screen in facing the front of the case then it couldn't possibly get scratched by the button.

A Solution That Works
I have been trying to find a way to easily carry a lot of camera equipment for quite some time. I have tried backpacks, shoulder bags, duffel bags, but none of them really worked all that well. Then I saw the Lowepro Street and Field system with completely customizable pouches, vests, belts, and accessories. It works great, you only get the pouches you need so there is no waisted space and you can organize them however you want according to how often they are used (put frequently used items in easier to access places.)

The variety alone of this system is worth the investment, but the quality and ease of use is also very high which is a big plus. You can get a case for any lens, camera body, or accessory you have. I even have cases for my cell phone and water bottle. One word of caution, be sure to measure your lens with the lens hood on backwards if you use them to make sure that the entire thing will fit into the pouch, because sometimes the lens will fit, but then the lens with the lens hood will not. I often carry 5-6 lenses, extension tubes, teleconverters, extra memory cards and batteries, and a bunch of cleaning supplies and other gadgets, which weights a ton. But when they are evenly distributed on this vest/belt Lowepro system it is actually very manageable.

The only down side is that everyone will be staring at you because you have thousands of dollars of camera equipment strapped to your body. But if you can overlook that, this is the way to go. I have used this system at many zoos without ever having problems, in fact just unzipping a single lens and switching seems safer to me than opening an entire bag of equipment every time you want to switch lenses. Many of the cases also come with a built in rain/snow cover so if the weather changes all of your equipment is not destroyed. You can also put just a few pouches on a normal belt when you are just going to take photos in the back yard or don't need to take all of your equipment, which is nice. I really can't say enough about how much easier this makes traveling with a lot of equipment, if you have been hopelessly searching for a better solution, consider this, you won't regret it.

fits Nikon 18-200 lens
This is a nicely padded lens case. It fits my Nikon 18-200 lens (without the hood). I just drop this in my backpack on days when I'm carrying just one spare lens and don't want to lug around a full camera bag.

Lowepro Lens Case, size "1" - nice!
I needed a padded case for my Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Zoom Lens, and this fits it perfectly. But, just the lens, not the lens hood too. (I have the EW-78B II Lens Hood - and that will not fit on this lens any which way in this case). If you want to keep your hood with your lens in a case, this one is too small for that. I looked at the LP1116 Canon Soft Lens Case (bag) and I just didn't think that would protect the lens very well, so I went with the Lowpro "1", and I'm glad I did.

i bought this case from amazon, all was good with the shipping and handling now for the case itslef: its so small, it barley hold my z2 camera, with luck you can put in also some 4 pack of aa or an extra sd card etc, no manuals or anything like it. the padding itself is nothing, if by chance it will fall, it will prob wont do any good.
im returning this product to amazon and instead i recommend buying the m-rock rocky mountain.

Fits for less
Although my Z-6 Camera wasn't listed I took a leap of fate and voila! It was 1/2 the price the local stores wanted.

Excellent bag for travel with your SLR
I purchased this bag for my Canon Digital Rebel SLR and I am extremely pleased. It is not the largest gadget bag that I own, but it is the best by far. The bag itself is 10" high, 9" wide and 6" deep so it is ideally sized for travel with your camera. It is well sized and balanced for carrying over one shoulder using the comfortable strap which is included. The bag is made of nylon, but it has a very study frame to it so the bag keeps its shape. Lowepro was generous with distributing the padding and I feel that the bag keeps my equipment quite safe.

The bag includes padded dividers which can be configured using Velcro. I have the bag configured so that I put my camera body with my 28-135mm lens attached into the bag lens first so that I can take it out again quickly. The dividers have rigidity to them so I am comfortable that they will support the camera body without risking the lens will hit the bottom of the bag. There is also enough room for my 300mm lens and accessories such as my spare batteries or lens covers.

Pockets include one on each side of the bag. There is a great zippered pocket on the back of the bag that is really useful for quickly stowing papers or books. There is also a zippered pocket inside the top flap where I keep my memory cards. The pocket on the front is also zippered and subdivided to store memory cards, filters, etc.

The bag includes a limited lifetime warranty. The bag is very well built and much better than any of the similar bags that I was looking at such as those by Targus which I did not think were as sturdy as this one.

In summary, I think that this is a great bag for a SLR camera. I use it extensively for my travels and I am very happy with it.

Perfect getaway/travel bag...
This is my second Lowepro bag (the other being a Slingshot 100 AW), but it's my most preferred. This is especially true for those days when I want to carry just the camera and one zoom lens (in my case, an Olympus E-500 with a 14-54mm/f2.8-3.5 lens) for family outings and visits, parties, etc. This should not imply the bag doesn't hold all I need, quite the contrary. This bag easily accommodates a FL-36 flash, an Olympus EC-14 teleconverter, Stofen Omnibounce, a spare BLM-1 battery, extra batteries for my flash, extra CF cards, a Lenspen, a tabletop tripod, a CP filter, and RM-1 remote switch, and other small accessories. It can even accept my E-500/14-54 with the EC-14 mounted as well, with no loss of room -- all this in a compact size and it's relatively lightweight too. What more can I ask?

Small Bag for a Big Camera
Quite roomy for a small camera bag. I had a difficult time finding a small camera bag that could fit my camera. This top-loading bag can hold a larger SLR with a battery grip, hand strap and medium zoom lens attached with a non-reversed lens hood. And there's room for more -- another lens or two or a flash unit and some smaller items like batteries, filters, memory cards, film, etc. The padded lens compartment dividers are velcroed and can be adjusted to fit your equipment. The right and left lens compartments can be further sub-divided with two included padded velcro partitions but I don't find it very useful to stack equipment in this fashion.

The bag is sturdy and well-padded with a top handle and an adjustable shoulder strap. The top is held closed with quick-release nylon buckle for fast extraction of your camera but can also be zippered closed for added protection from the elements. Great bag for short trips!

Great Non-Backpack Type Bag
I needed a new camera bag for my new camera, so I shopped a local camera store to see what they had. I was really impressed with the quality of the Tamrac products they had in stock. The canvas sides of the bag, the straps and the padding were all a notch heavier and better quality than similarly priced competing brands that I saw in that store. But I didn't buy there, since they only carried backpack styles in the Tamrac brand, and I wanted a more conventional, non-backpack style bag.

I did an Internet search for Tamrac products when I got home and found that they have a huge and varied product line of camera and video bags, many more than I saw in the store. Since I now knew of their quality, I simply picked a Tamrac bag by the advertised features, size and price.

The Tamrac Explorer 2 is fairly small, but ideally sized to carry my Nikon D80 DSLR with a 18-135 Nikkor zoom attached. There is also enough additional room for a good sized flash and an extra lens. And, there's plenty of space for small things like extra memory cards, batteries, cables, etc.

My camera's body with the lens attached measures a total of 6.25 inches long (back of camera body to end of attached lens), 4 inches tall (camera body base to hot shoe) and 5 inches wide. This bag will accept a camera body that is even wider than that, but the 6.25 inch total length is close to the max that this bag will comfortably handle. If your camera/lens combination is longer than that, you will want to look at a larger bag, if you intend to carry your camera with the lens attached.

Finally, this is a bag that should last you many years with only minimal care. It is solidly built from quality materials. Just keep in mind that the size of this bag is suitable for just one camera body, a couple of lenses (one attached to the camera body), a flash attachment and the assorted small items that support a DSLR system. If you want to carry more than this, get a larger bag.

Great quality
Very pleased with the quality of this bag. Shoulder strap pad is made to conform to your shoulder and does not feel bad even after a full days use.
Strap could be a bit longer IMO, I like to put the strap over my head and carry it on the other shoulder so it will not slip off.. just not long enough to keep top of bag as low as I like, but still works just fine.
I'm 6 foot and wear a size 42 long jacket as reference if that helps at all.

I would suggest that you go by the actual inside measurements rather than Tamrac saying WHAT it will hold. Not sure just what lenses and flash units they are testing with, but seem to be of smaller size than what I have in use.

Normally, I carry a backpack type camera bag to hold all my gear, but now and then find I don't need everything with me and would still like to protect my gear and keep it ready for quick use.

I stepped up from the Explorer "1" to this size just as I was about to order, because I wanted plenty of room and it's not quite what I thought in that area based on how many items they state it will hold.

This does hold a Cannon 20D or 40D with battery grip plus shorter lens like the 17-85. (Don't pull the velcro divider straps all the way flat)
a full size flash and flash grip, along with extra batteries, memory cards etc.

They do make various, smaller, add-on cases that can mount on the strap and that works well also if you need to carry more items.

One feature I messed up on.... I started looking at smaller Tamrac bags and they featured a way to strap to your belt along with a shoulder strap and I like that in my other bags.
However, I used the Tamrac site "quick look" to look at the line and kept up-sizing until I saw what seemed to hold enough items, but failed to see that it dropped the belt feature at some size, so just be sure and read the features and measurments well before you order yours.

If you get one too small, you have to pack it tight in the main compartment, makes you lose the use of all the other zippered compartments as filling these will make things fit worse or not at all.

Our camera cord was hooked up to our big screen TV when it was stolen. We called Canon to order a new cord and they told us they don't sell them but Amazon did and he walked me thru Amazon's web site where I could order the perfect cord I needed. I love this case with the (optional) trolley or without
I initially purchased the Kata OC-84, this case's older sibling that comes with the trolley, but when it arrived it was just too big for my usage. (The size of a large suitcase.)

This one holds just what I want for a shoot: Two DSLR camera bodies, two or three (smaller) lenses, and enough accessories for most assignments. If I brought the 100-400 zoom, though, it does take up a little less than half of the case. You are able to fashion the interior dividers to deal with just about any combination of gear.

The Kata people make body armor, too, and you can tell by the exterior of this product that it is meant to last. There is insulation that protects the interior temperature-wise as well. And when I had to check the case (not with valuable camera gear, only because I am more worried about theft), it came through without a single mark. Perfect Vehicle Gear Bag
I have several bags from backpacks, sling, solo style for camera & lens only, to this Lovely Unit.
Backpacks are Ok while out on foot, but do not have the protection for daily thrashing about on daily chores.

I know when this bag is holding $7000 of camera gear that my worries or over.
The front panel snugly holds my $2500 15" Apple PowerBook just right.

Great fit for my D200
I was concerned that this bag might be too small for a full size DSLR, but it is absolutely right for my D200 with 18-200 lens. I wish I could post a picture showing how perfectly it fits! Just enough room for the charger & extra battery or two as well. Memory cards fit nicely into their own pockets, and I can still carry a lens cleaner & a couple of filters. There is still a bit of room yet, but that is really all I need. The bag seems to be very well constructed, nicely padded, and I really like the overhanging top flap which helps protect the contents from inclement weather. If you need to carry a larger assortment of accessories or extra lenses, or have a bulkier camera, you might want to go for a larger bag. For those of us who prefer to travel light, the Explorer 1 is perfect.

I bought this bag for a Sony A100. Camera fits snugly and is well protected. The construction of this bag is very good, with heavy stitching and zippers that work smoothly. There are several pockets for additional accessories and yet the bag is compact and easy to carry, with a shoulder strap and a hand strap. Good performance to price ratio, I recommend.

Perfect fit Canon 30D

little bugger rocks
I recently went from '90's vintage digital8 camcorder behemoth to a palm sized camcorder. My old camcorder tripod weighed like 10 times as much as the camera and folder was still way way bigger.

This little one is awesome- sturdy- yet folds up tiny. I can actually fit it into a smallish camcorder bag with the new camcorder and all the related junk.

It folds up smaller than any I could find on the net, yet expands to within a few inches of the taller ones.

THe cheap price is just a bonus- I just wanted something small and usable and this fit the bill for sure.

Not bad
I choose this tripod cause it folds to half the size of the competitors w/o sacrificing much. It's very sturdy. It extends sort of like an antenna, but it takes some muscle. It's especially tough to adjust the height somewhere in-between min and max, but I probably would never need to.

Quik Pod Tips
I've had the Quik Pod for about 6 months and it really does work as advertised. Here are a few tips to help you use it more effectively:

* Leave the tripod legs attached all the time: This lets you extend your reach even more by folding the tripod legs inward and holding them instead of the handle when taking a shot. You can also quickly fold them out and set the Quik Pod on a table or the ground to take even longer shots of yourself (or simply to steady the camera so you can use a slower shutter speed, no flash, and/or lower ISO setting for more natural low-light shots).

* Make sure your camera is in the right focusing mode: Many cameras will immediately set the focus when you press the shutter button, even when the self-timer is on. This can lead to out-of-focus shots with the Quik Pod, since you must press the shutter button before extending the camera away from you. If your camera does this, try changing to "continuous focus" mode (which will often be set if you choose the camera's "Sports" scene mode) -- this will cause your camera to focus continually right up to the moment the shutter fires.

* More on focusing: You can also help keep your photos in focus without using continuous focus mode by setting a smaller aperture (higher "f-stop" number) using the camera's manual or "aperture priority" mode. Smaller apertures give you greater depth of field, which means that more of the picture will be in focus. I've taken quite a few shots with large apertures where the camera mistakenly focused on something in the background, so that my face was out of focus. Using smaller apertures helps prevent this problem and they also keep more of what's behind you in focus (which is desirable if there is something scenic in the background). Of course, if your camera has the new face detection feature that tries to recognize and focus on the faces it "sees", then this will be less of a problem for you.

* Use it as a tripod more often: If you retract the Quik Pod to its shortest length and use it as a tabletop tripod, it is very sturdy and will allow you to shoot great photos in low light by turning off your flash and letting the camera use a slower shutter speed. This eliminates any "shake" that might be caused by your hands when trying to shoot handheld without a flash, which can cause blurry photos. Of course, this is less of a problem if your camera has an image stabilizer feature, but a tripod makes low light shots even better regardless of your camera's features.

* Hold it low to capture a toddler's point of view: The world can look very different to someone 30 inches tall. Take some shots holding your Quik Pod down and away from you to capture the "land of giants" view that a small child sees without having to squat or kneel down. You can even let the camera be upside down when you take such photos -- just flip them on the computer after you download them from your camera.

Not impressed
I had high hopes for the Quik Pod but was rather let down once it arrived. It works okay. Does what it says it will do. But that's about it.

I was hoping for a quality piece that one would be excited to receive as a gift and this just doesn't seem like the quality item I was hoping for. I'm referring not only to the looks of the Quik Pod but to its feel, as well.

It just looks and feels like a lightweight piece of cheap plastic that probably won't last too long. The levering action is not smooth. It's somewhat difficult to retract. It rattles around when you hold it. And when I set it up as a free-standing tripod the side weight of my average sized point-and-shoot digital camera nearly toppled the thing. Of course, the ball mount can easily adjust to any number number of positions so I can still align the camera for a proper shot but this bendy piece of plastic looks a bit like the Leaning Tower of Pisa trying to hold up just a bit more than it can handle.

Actually, the attachable legs are really the only thing in the whole package that even seem to me to be of decent quality. The various pieces of metal and aluminum seem well-crafted, well-fit, and solid. Why can't the main product, itself, have been manufactured in a similar way?

I wanted to be impressed but I'm not. Purchased one as a sample to decide whether to buy a handful more as gifts and I almost feel embarrassed just giving this one away. Also? It was my understanding that the Quik Pod Pro came not only with the attachable legs but with a bottle-top mount for mounting a camera to a water bottle. A novel idea that I was interested to try out. Perhaps I'm mistaken on this point but no such item was included in the pack I received.

The Quik Pod feels more like something I would pay $10 for than $30. Two stars, max.

Broken on second use
The second time I used the quik pod, when I tightened the swivel, the plastic broke. I feel like I just threw $25 bucks out of the window.

This is a must have. This is included with the S10 or S20 when bought outside the US. If you buy the camera in the US, buy this immediately. As with most digital cameras, either Canon eats batteries rapidly.

It's a bit expensive, but really necessary.

Has attachment to have camera directly plugged into wall so you can download pictures to your computer. This is absolutely necessary if you transfer via serial connection.

Necessary, but too expensive
This kit works great, and is absolutely necessary to get the most enjoyment out of your S20 (or S10). Without this kit, the camera will eat batteries and put in the poorhouse.

The kit itself is easy to use, and will recharge a battery in just a couple of hours. It seems to work fairly smartly to make sure not to overcharge batteries.

The only real downsides are 1, the cost (Canon should have provided this in the camera, IMHO) and 2, you can't recharge a battery and run the camera off of AC at the same time. That said, if you have an S10 or S20, you really need to purchase this kit.

A few word
I bought S20 to photograph my kid last year and I have not thought of changing to any other camera. The only problem it has, besides expensive print, is the battery life. I did not have time to do research on it so I kept buying 2CR5 batteries from Walgreen, which were like 12 bucks per piece. Until very recently I suddenly woke up figuring I needed to buy rechargeable battery to prevent those expensive one-time 2CR5 batteries from draining my pocket. DK110 (the power supply which include the charger and the rechargeable NB-5H battery) is an absolutely must-buy for Canon S20 users - go get it right after you bought ur camera. Of course the camera will be heavier with NB-5H but it's not much difference. I have done this a year late but it will easily pay off in a couple of months for me. And also I would strongly suggest you buy an adapter for your laptop so you can simply put the CompactFlash storage card into the adapter and slide the combination into your laptop's PC card slot (CardBus II slot). It's a lot faster than USB connection and does not consume any battery from your camera. The PC card adapter is from SanDisk.

I have owned two of these battery chargers for about two years now. They are reliable and they don't charge the batteries too quickly or get them really hot, like some "quick" chargers I've used, which reduces the life of your batteries.

What I like about this charger: Comes with a 120v power supply to run off house current, but will also run off 12V DC in your car, boat, or RV with a 12V power cord.
